Dear Net Force Players, Parents and Coaches:
After a careful review of significant changes in the junior volleyball community I have decided to withdraw our 3 Competition teams from the June 9-10th Pre-National tournament hosted by Sports Performance Volleyball Club (SPVB). As you may be aware, SPVB owner Rick Butler has received a life time ban from USA Volleyball as well as bans from the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and JVA Volleyball due to his history of misconduct with minors involved in his program. A quick google search will provide you with a variety of details regarding these events. As a result, I have made the decision to no longer patronize any SPVB event or any other Rick Butler owned service (Volleyshop, camps, clinics).
While we realize that this may pose a inconvenience to our players/families, I believe that it is the right thing to do in this situation. Furthermore, I believe you will see many other clubs following suit now and in the future which will dramatically change the Great Lakes Region landscape for junior volleyball.
To replace this event we will be attending the Sky High National Warm Up tournament on June 2-3 in Crystal Lake.
In an unrelated change, the 15 Competition tournament originally scheduled for Saturday, May 5th has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 6th.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding our actions here. Wishing everyone the best in the remaining season.
